Glens lost this game through mishandling and poor defence. The Glens forwards, however, were more than a match for the visitors by winning their share of the line-out, the ruck and mauls, and totally destroyed the opposition scrum, winning innumerable strikes against the head.
Early in the second half, however, East Kilbride contrived and succeeded in establishing unopposed scrums – thus eliminating Glens’ biggest advantage.

Hide AdEast Kilbride produced a steady flow of tries by simple support and backing up, with their backs exploiting the weak home defence. Glens did manage a try by Johnston from near the visitors’ line, a penalty by Moore and an interception try by McLay, who outstripped the visiting defence from his own 22-metre line.
There were flashes of clever play by the home side, but these usually came to nothing due to poor handling.
