The summer transfer window is now closed and as always, it definitely did not disappoint when it came to delivering the drama.
Celtic enjoyed a very fruitful business period, bringing in a fleet of new permanent signings, as well as a couple of extra additions on loan, including Nat Phillips from Brendan Rodgers’ former club Liverpool.
Even though Deadline Day has been and gone, there’s still a high amount of players who are without a club and could be snapped up at any time. GlasgowWorld has put together a list of nine free agents who Celtic could explore to further pad out their squad as they push for another Scottish Premiership title this season.
1. Jesse Lingard
Celtic have a number of options in their engine room but no natural attacking midfielders. While his wages could be a stumbling block, he would add a real sharpness of quality.
2. Axel Tuanzebe
Another former Man United player, Tuanzebe could answer a lot of Celtic’s centre-back troubles right now. The injuries are piling up across the backline and any extra firepower wioukd be much appreciated.
3. Darko Velkovski
Another option at centre-back but he can also play in midfield when called upon. Velkovski is versatile and has experience at international level.
4. Nampalys Mendy
Mendy played under Rodgers at Leicester so the two know each other very well. The midfielder could be a strong defensive asset for the engine room.
