KILSYTH Rangers will begin their preparations for the new season next Monday with a restart of training.
With manager Matt Coulter having had a mass clearout of many of last season's squad there will be many new faces on show. Signed from Armadale are keeper Michael Dukes, defenders Jamie Vallentine and Jamie Gallacher. It is expected that a number of e
xperienced juniors and some young players from local teams and senior youth sides will also be asked to attend with a view to possible signings being made.

An attractive and challenging list of pre-season friendlies have been arranged beginning with a visit from Kelty Hearts on Saturday, July 19, then a visit to Whitburn on Tuesday, July 22, followed by two home games against Edinburgh United and Linlithgow Rose on July 26 and 29 respectively and, finally, an away game against St Andrew's on Saturday, August 2.

The season starts as normal with the Sectional League Cup and two home matches against Dunipace and Cumbernauld United on Wednesday and Saturday, August 6 and 9. It concludes with a visit to Adamslie for a meeting against newly promoted Rob Roy on Saturday, August 16. The winners of this section will meet the winners of section five, which includes Pollok and Arthurlie in the quarter final.

The league programme begins on August 23 with a visit to Kilwinning Rangers, at home to Port Glasgow on August 30, away to Girvan on September 6 and at home to Clydebank on September 13. Saturday, September 20, Girvan come to Duncansfield for the first round of the West of Scotland Cup. This makes for a very interesting and challenging start to the new season and Rangers' fans will be hoping that they can put last year's woes behind them and get off to a good start.
