CUMBERNAULD young goalkeepers have proved they are top when it comes to shot stopping.
Shot Stoppers Goalkeeping Academy has unearthed almost 60 youngsters, many of whom have gone on to sign for both senior and junior cubs.

Among the most famous former students of the academy is Celtic and Scotland keeper David Marshall. And the latest crop of up and coming shot stoppers are tipped for more success in the future. A number of local boys' club goalkeepers and their parents have been impressed with the set-up since 1994.

Shot Stoppers' head coach Tom Scott, who has worked with goalkeepers for 18 years revealed: "Their level of performances at specialist sessions has been magnificent". Tom hopes to recruit more local goalies for the academy.

The chance to compete in quality programmes is being made available for boys' clubs or school team goalkeepers aged 12 to 21 years as well as amateur and junior football goals.

For details on the Shot Stoppers Goalkeeping Academy plus a summer application form, contact Tom Scott on 07814 269198.
