LIVINGSTON boss Roberto Landi claimed "we suffer, but we win" as his side grabbed a late victory against Clyde but they weren't suffering as much as the Bully Wee.
Last week Neil McGregor said the side had to stop making life difficult for themselves by gifting the opposition the lead but having taken the lead against Livingston this week, defender Chris Higgins believes they then threw away the result.
Clyde went ahead on 29 minutes through Pat Clarke but an equaliser by Anthony McParland and winner by Leigh Griffiths four minutes from time means the Broadwood side are still without a league win this season.
Higgins, who himself made two brilliant goal saving tackles in the game, said: "I thought we had done enough to deserve a point and we just have to regroup and look for victories in our next games.
"We need to make sure we can protect a lead as there is no point in going in front if we are just going to concede two, especially when they weren't causing us many problems and I couldn't really see them scoring."
Marvyn Wilson returned after completing a three game ban to add some steel to the Clyde midfield and this seemed to give the visitors more emphasis to attack and should have been two up in 12 minutes.
Scott Gemmill knocked down for Pat Clarke but his shot was saved by Pierre Martini's legs and then a short backpass by Chris Innes allowed in Gemmill but his shot was wide of Martini and also the post.
At the other end David Hutton denied Griffiths before Clyde took the lead as Gemmill flicked the ball into the path of Clarke who beat Martini with a low shot.
This seemed to make Livingston up a bit and Hutton somehow held on to a Liam Fox piledriver before McParland jinked on the edge on the area on 39 minutes and swept the ball into the bottom corner.
Clarke and Griffiths exchanged chances but the deadlock remained until half time.
After a free flowing first half the second seemed a little flat with chances at a premium with Higgins having Clyde's only real chance of note but his header was tipped over by Martini.
Murray Davidson and Rocco Quinn both went close for Livingston and five minutes from time it looked that Davidson would strike home the winner only to be denied by an incredible tackle as Higgins came out of nowhere.
However, his intervention only delayed three points for the home side by 60 seconds as Griffiths outpaced the Clyde defence to fire the ball beyond Hutton.
Clyde met Hamilton Accies in the second round of the CIS Cup at New Douglas Park last night (Tuesday) and on Saturday travel to Perth to face a St Johnstone side who were demolished 4-0 but Partick Thistle at the weekend.
Not that Higgins is expecting that will make life any easier for his side.
He said: "We just need to wait and see how St Johnstone react to the Partick result but it's a tough league and we'l need to be up for it because I have no doubt they will be.
"We are looking to get as high up the league as possible but first and foremost we have to start winning, starting with Saturday, and if we can start getting some results then our league placing will take care of itself."
