Only active farmers entitled to direct payments
THERE has been a mixed reaction from Clydesdale’s politicans to Richard Lochhead’s Ministerial Statement on the Common Agricultural Policy.
Mr Lochhead outlined how the new CAP would be implemented.
The plans include strict new rules to ensure only active farmers – not the so-called ‘slipper’ farmers – are entitled to direct payments.
