BMX riders Andrew (nine) and Carla (12), from Cardowan, sit third and first place respectively on the leader boards of the Scottish Go-BMX Summer Series competition, and there are still three races to go.
Carla has already secured the Scottish title in the girls 13-15 category having won all the races in the series already.

Her brother, however, still has a fight on his hands and hopes that winning the remaining races in the boys 9-10 category will push him up to second place.
The pair, who attend Stepps Primary and Chryston High, also achieved impressive placings during the recent world championships in Birmingham which attracted competitors from around 42 different countries.
Andrew finished 65th in boys 10-year-olds category while Carla placed 26th in the girls 13-year-olds age group.

They need good placings at this competition if they are to take part in the world championships again next year.
The duo (pictured) have also set their sights on the British championships in September, but have lots of training to do ahead of these events.
Dad David said: “They train hard most days although I usually give them two days off.

The pair do a mixture of exercises to ensure they are at their peak for competing in the events including swimming, running and weight training.
Their success in these events, however, would not be possible without the support of sponsors XL Roofing in Stepps and Keith Melville.
