A CUMBERNAULD fitness instructor overcame her fears to take a zip-slide over the Clyde.
Tanya Yousaf (20), assistant manager at Curves ladies' gym in the town, plunged 1000 feet from 240 feet up at the Finnieston Crane in Glasgow, to raise almost £200 for ENABLE Scotland.

An exhilarated Tanya said: "I'm scared of heights, so this was a really big deal for me. It was a proper challenge and I have earned every penny of sponsorship. It's an amazing feeling to have done something like this."

Tanya was convinced to take the plunge by Moira Goldie, a member at the gym who works for ENABLE Scotland.

"Moira is always telling me about her job so I know that ENABLE Scotland do some great work," said Tanya.

"They support lots of children and adults who live here in Cumbernauld. It's great to know that I'll be helping people."

Tanya joined 30 other zippers who raised more than £5000 between them.

Kathleen O'Mahony, events organiser with the charity, said: "The zip was a great success. We are hugely grateful to Tanya and everyone else who took part."
