More children than ever before are living in poverty in the Southside

Almost half of children in the Southside Central ward of Glasgow are now living in poverty.

The ward, which includes Govanhill and Queen’s Park, has the second highest percentage of poverty across the city (49%).

And they are not alone. In the Southside, 42 per cent of children are in poverty in Pollokshields Ward, 36 per cent in Greater Pollok and 24 per cent in Langside.
